FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How old do I have to be to attend class at Studio XIV?
A: Studio XIV is an adult only studio. All participants must be 18 years of age or older to attend class in person or participate in commercial productions.

Q: What shoes should I wear for a dance class?
A: You are about to dance for an hour or more, so you want to be comfortable! Here's a breakdown of shoes for styles of dance and classes...

Heels Class - any height of heel that you feel comfortable in; for beginners we suggest a chunky heel with ankle support, like a bootie style. Remember that you can always take a heels class in running shoes or bare feet until you build the strength and comfort to wear heels.

Ballet - ballet slippers or socks

Hip Hop, Jazz Funk & Dance Fitness - running shoes or bare feet

Contemporary - bare feet, socks, or "foot undies"

Broadway - jazz shoe, sock, or bare feet

Tap - tap shoes, running shoes, or bare feet

Q: What clothing should I wear for a dance class?
A: We are all adults here and accept you as you are! Dress in what makes YOU feel the most confident and comfortable! This could be as much or as little clothing as you want. As long as you are able to move and sweat, then you are set for class. Some suggestions would be leggings and a t-shirt, track pants and a sports bra, lingerie for a sexy heels class, bodysuits, or your typical workout gear.

Q: Do I have to wear a mask during dance class?
A: No! Masks are not mandatory while taking dance classes at Studio XIV. We ask that you keep your mask on in all common areas until you are in your 6ft dance box for class. If you have to leave your box during class, please put your mask back on.

Q: Can my child (under age 18) wait in the lobby while I take class?
A: No, due to our insurance and safety policies, children under the age of 18 cannot be left unattended or be in Studio XIV while classes are running. If you can no longer attend a class in person because of this, you can opt to attend from home with a ZOOM link for a virtual live-feed of class.

Q: I can't come to class, can I get a refund?
A: We do not offer refunds on in person or virtual drop in, level up or choreography classes. You are welcome to sell your spot to another student for class or join via ZOOM for a virtual live-feed of class instead.

Q: I can't come to class, can I get a credit?
A: We offer partial credits for cancellations of drop in, level up, or choreography classes with more than 24 hours notice. Due to class caps, you will not receive a refund or credit if you cancel within 24 hours of the class.

Q: I am part of an upcoming production and can no longer participate. Can I get a credit or refund?
A: Once a production has started, there are NO credits or refunds permitted. If we are alerted of this more than 7 days in advance of the production starting, a partial credit is available (unless otherwise stated at checkout).

Q: I want to join a production, but can't pay up front. Are there payment plan options?
A: YES! Payment plans are available for productions on the full price (not early bird rate). These payment plans are flexible to work with you. Payment plans can be broken up into 4 to 8 payments depending on the length of the production.
